11. Houston Texans – They should bounce back. The D never had a chance last year with the offense playing so ineptly.

12. Baltimore Ravens – This is a fantasy sleeper and could end up top 6. Another D/ST that was hurt by horrible offensive play.

13. Pittsburgh Steelers – They’ve invested in a lot of young talent that past few years. Expect Lebeau to get the most out of it.

14. Detroit Lions – This unit was undisciplined a year ago. The new regime will have the front 7 humming.

15. Cleveland Browns – They were a very solid D/ST in 2013. A better offense will help it out.

16. New Orleans Saints – Rob Ryan’s attacking D yielded excellent returns in year 1.

17. New York Giants – The Giants changed their philosophy and focused on LBer in the offseason. It will pay dividends.

18. Philadelphia Eagles – They came on strong over the 2nd half of the season. Some solid young talent on that side of the ball.

19. Jacksonville Jaguars – They are a deep fantasy sleeper. Gus Bradley has built up a solid DL and has a scheme that will force turnovers.

20. Oakland Raiders – They have a chance to be another nice sleeper. Playing Denver twice a year is no fun, but they’ve added playmakers to this side of the ball.

1. Antonio Gates – If he’s healthy enough to go, he’s the top fantasy football TE in Week 7. And he’ll thrive against the Patriots.

2. Vernon Davis - The Panthers have a gaping hole in the middle of its secondary. Davis will be working there all afternoon.

3.  Tony Gonzalez - Matt Ryan will be throwing in Gonzalez direction to avoid the Bengals talented CBs.

4.  Zach Miller - Miller’s a force for the Raiders and will torch Denver on Sunday.

Next In Line

Jason Witten - Witten will see plenty of balls in his direction on Monday Night.

Mercedes Lewis – The Jags main receiving threat in 2010 should find success against Rookie S Eric Berry this week.

Aaron Hernandez - The hybrid receiver is a favorite of Tom Brady. Look for a strong game in San Diego.

Rounding Out the List

Brent Celek - Kevin Kolb will target him 8-10 times with the absence of DeSean Jackson.

Heath Miller - Roethlisberger’s return instantly yielded results. Look for Miller to find the end zone for the 2nd week in a row.

Jeremy Shockey – The Browns are absolutely horrible in pass coverage. Look for Shockey to score in this one.

Kellen Winslow – Josh Freeman will target his big TE when the Rams come to town.

Visanthe Schiancoe – His production has dropped each of the past two weeks but we see a return to the end zone in Lambeau.

Todd Heap - Heap should be a dangerous red zone threat against the lowly Bills this week. They’ve had a terrible time covering opposing TEs.

Fantasy Sleeper of the Week

Bo Scaife - If Kerry Collins starts, Scaife immediately sees his value rise. He’s an excellent fantasy sleeper vs. the Eagles and should find the end zone at home.

1. Maurice Jones-Drew - After a big bounce back vs. the Colts, MJD now faces a team which just gave up over 100 yards to two RBs in one game. He’s the top ranked fantasy football RB in Week 5 and we expect him to top 125 yards with 2 TDs.

2. Steven Jackson - The Lions run D is not good and Jackson and the Rams come in with a lot of confidence.

3. Chris Johnson - Things aren’t coming so easy for C2K in 2010 but we expect a solid game in Dallas this week.

4. Michael Turner - The Falcons will run the ball plenty vs. the Browns and Turner will top 100 yards with a TD.

Next In Line

Michael Tolbert - He appears to have supplanted Ryan Mathews as the No. 1 back for now and Oakland can’t stop anyone on the ground.

Ahmad Bradshaw - Ran for 129 yards and a TD vs. the Bears and will find similar success vs. the Texans.

Ray Rice - An injured knee limited his productivity vs. the Steelers but the Broncos won’t provide nearly as stiff of a challenge.

Rounding Out the List

Frank Gore – Gore’s value so far has been as a receiver out of the backfield and we expect another strong showing vs. the Eagles on Sunday.

Jahvid Best – This is a good matchup for the Lions and Best will have a strong game running the ball and as a receiver out of the backfield.

Jamaal Charles - The Colts shaky run defense will mean a big day for Charles, who’s a home run threat every time he touches the ball.

Beanie Wells – The Saints D is average at this point and doesn’t stop the run well. Expect Beanie Wells to breakout at home on Sunday.

Arian Foster – The Giants played tough vs. the Bears but Houston will feed its horse the ball this week. If the Texans get a lead, expect a big afternoon.

Adrian Peterson - The matchup is very tough, but AD is a must start every week. He could be more of a factor as a receiver rather than RB on Monday Night.

Cedric Benson – The Bengals offense needs more consistency and it all starts with the running game. Benson will top 100 yards vs. the Bucs.

Peyton Hillis – He’s run very well the past two weeks against very good defenses. The Falcons are another tough defense but we’re still on the Hills bandwagon.

LaDainian Tomlinson - No. 21 was stellar on Sunday with 133 yards and 2 TDs. It’ll be tougher to run on the Vikings but we expect Tomlinson to find the end zone at least once on Monday.

Fantasy Football Sleeper of the Week

CJ Spiller – Today’s trade of Marshawn Lynch means more playing time for the 1st round draft choice. Spiller is an intriguing fantasy sleeper this week and could take one all the way to the house against a suspect Jags run defense.

Must Starts

1. Pittsburgh Steelers – Their 7 turnover performance vs. the Titans showed the Steelers are back in a big way. They also returned the opening KO for a TD. This is the top ranked fantasy football D/ST in Week 3 and will cause havoc all afternoon vs. the Bucs.

2. Cincinnati Bengals - The Bengals are coming off an excellent performance in which they forced 4 picks against Joe Flacco. They’re now facing rookie Jimmy Clausen. Expect a dominant fantasy performance in Week 3.

3. Baltimore Ravens - The Ravens D has been solid through 2 games. Now they get an easy matchup and we expect them to feast on QB Seneca Wallace (or QB Jake Delhomme if healthy) and Co.

4. Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings will get after QB Shaun Hill and force multiple turnovers. Their defensive game plan will be to take RB Jahvid Best out of the game and force Detroit to put the ball in the air.

Next In Line

New England Patriots - The Bills are starting a new QB (Ryan Fitzpatrick) and Belichick’s unit will bounce back at home.

San Francisco 49ers - The Niners D should neutralize the Chiefs running game and put the ball into Matt Cassel’s hands, who’s shown next to nothing thus far on the season. Expect sacks and a few turnovers in Week 3.

Indianapolis Colts - DE Dwight Freeney and DE Robert Mathis should be all over Kyle Orton on Sunday. Once the Colts get the lead, expect the D to pin their ears back and force the Broncos into costly mistakes.

Rounding out the list

San Diego Chargers - The Chargers D has played well to start the season and now gets a turnover prone Seahawks offense. Look for a few sacks and turnovers on Sunday.

New York Jets – The Wild Cat gave the Jets fits a year ago but we expect to see adjustments in this one. Jason Taylor will be looking to have a big game in his homecoming on Sunday Night.

Miami Dolphins - The Dolphins played a great game against the Vikings and will keep pressure on Mark Sanchez and Co. Expect a low scoring affair.

Arizona Cardinals - They’re only ranked this week because they’re facing the Oakland Raiders, who look completely lost on offense. The Cards will be fired up in their home opener and force multiple turnovers while keeping the score low.

Fantasy Sleeper of the Week

Washington Redskins – They’re heading to St. Louis to face rookie QB Sam Bradford on Sunday. Expect a blitz heavy package from Washington and a solid effort on Sunday. This is an excellent Week 3 D/ST fantasy sleeper.

Must Starts

1. Aaron Rodgers - The loss of RB Ryan Grant means the Packers will be throwing the ball even more. Expect Rodgers to have a huge game in Soldier Field on MNF and he is the top ranked fantasy football QB in Week 3.

2. Peyton Manning – Manning will pass all over the Broncos this Sunday to the tune of 300 yards and 3TDs. If CB Champ Bailey is potentially out with injury, maybe more.

3. Tony Romo - The Cowboys are off to an awful starts but now face a team that has given up over 400 passing yards in the 1st two weeks of the season. Expect a big game out of Romo and Co. and over 300 yards and 3 TDs.

4. Tom Brady – Brady has always feasted on the Bills over the course of his career. Look for him to find WR Randy Moss and WR Wes Welker all afternoon for 300 yards and 3 TDs.

Next In Line

Joe Flacco - The season hasn’t started out for Flacco fantasy owners as they hoped it would, but this week is a chance to get healthy. Look for Joe Flacco to torch the Browns secondary to the tune of 250 yards and 2 TDs.

Matt Schaub - The Cowboys secondary was burned by Jay Cutler on Sunday and Schaub is coming off a 497 yard game. Look for a huge effort against the Cowboys.

Donovan McNabb – McNabb put up over 400 yards against the Texans and will have another fine afternoon when heading to St. Louis.

Rounding out the list

Drew Brees – The loss of RB Reggie Bush hurts, but Brees is adept at spreading the ball around and will put up numbers and points against the Falcons.

Eli Manning - Eli will have a healthy Hakeem Nicks back in the lineup and will throw for 250 yards and 2 TDs against the Titans.

Brett Favre - The lack of receiving threats hurts Favre, but these are the Lions. Expect a bounce back with over 225 yards and a few TDs.

Phillip Rivers - The Chargers passing game found its rhythm against the lowly Jags and we expect Rivers to continue that trend against the Seahawks.

Michael Vick - Vick earned the starting job outright with his play against the Lions and faces a less than formidable opponent in the Jags on Sunday.

Jay Cutler - The Packers D has been tough on opposing QBs but the Bears will be winging it on Monday Night. Look for a solid fantasy stat line from Cutler with at least 2 TDs.

Fantasy Sleeper of the Week

Matt Ryan - This could be a high scoring game and the Falcons might be with a less than 100% RB Michael Turner. If so, we like Ryan to top 250 yards with 3 TDs and is an excellent fantasy sleeper in Week 3.

QB Tom Brady

He’ll have trouble topping 200 yards and finding the end zone more than once on Sunday.

RB Chris Johnson – While a No. 1 overall pick in the fantasy football draft is always a must start, be wary this week. The Steelers come to town with a healthy S Troy Polamalu and picking up rushing yards against that defense is very difficult (see RB Michael Turner Week 1).

We think Johnson finishes with 60-70 yards but is held without a TD.

WR Calvin Johnson – The insertion of Shaun Hill at QB hurts Johnson’s fantasy status. Hill lacks the arm strength to get the ball deep and the Eagles will pay special attention to Megatron. Look for a very pedestrian 40-50 yard game without a TD.

TE – Kellen Winslow – The Panthers CBs will have no trouble locking down the Bucs inexperienced WRs and this will allow Carolina to double Kellen Winslow. As such, expect a severe drop off in production for Winslow.

D/ST San Francisco 49ers – What was supposed to be one of the best defenses in fantasy football was embarrassed by the Seahawks in Week 1.  Now Drew Brees and Co. come to town. Expect the Saints to put up 25-30 points making the Niners D/ST a good sit in Week 2.

Others who will have subpar games

QB Brett Favre, RB Ronnie Brown, WR Mike Wallace, TE Jeremy Shockey, D/ST NY Giants

1. Green Bay Packers - LB Clay Mathews was a beast in Week 1 and the Packers were extremely physical. They’ll put up a dominant performance vs. the Bills and are the top ranked fantasy football D/ST in Week 2.

2. Philadelphia Eagles - QB Shaun Hill’s behind center. Enough said. Look for the Eagles to create multiple turnovers and sack Hill at least 4 times.

3. Dallas Cowboys – Jay Cutler’s a turnover machine waiting to happen and LB DeMarcus Ware and Co. get after the QB. Expect a big performance by the Cowboys D on Sunday.

4. Atlanta Falcons – The Cards struggled mightily against the Rams and now head to Atlanta, where yards and points will be hard to come by.

Next In Line

New York Jets – the Jets feast on pass happy teams. CB Darrelle Revis will be on WR Randy Moss and New York’s aggressive blitz scheme will keep QB Tom Brady in check.

Minnesota Vikings - The Dolphins weren’t particularly impressive in their Week 1 win over the Bills and the Vikings can’t afford to go 0-2. Look for them to harass QB Chad Henne and force a few picks on Sunday.

New Orleans Saints - If the Saints jump out to an early lead DC Gregg Williams will send multiple waves after QB Alex Smith.

Rounding Out the List

Pittsburgh Steelers – The Steelers D is back and will key in on RB Chris Johnson. Look for them to put the game into Vince Young’s hands and sack him multiple times. They’ll also force a few turnovers.

Tennessee Titans – Tennessee’s D looks strong and the Steelers are now without OT Max Starks, which will have QB Dennis Dixon on the move even more. Look for a low scoring game with a few turnovers.

Baltimore Ravens – The Ravens front seven is good for a few turnovers and sacks each week, as will happen when they travel to Cincinnati.

San Diego Chargers – the Jaguars travel poorly. The Chargers will be all over QB David Garrard and force multiple turnovers at home.

Miami Dolphins – The Dolphins will key on RB Adrian Peterson and keep QB Brett Favre’s effectiveness to a minimum. Expect a low scoring game.

Denver Broncos – Look for Denver to rebound in Week 2 and have a strong effort against the Seahawks.

Fantasy Sleeper of the Week

Oakland Raiders – One of the most difficult things for a rookie QB to do is play well on the road. Look for the Raiders D to rebound and make QB Sam Bradford’s life miserable on Sunday. They’re a strong fantasy sleeper and will force multiple turnovers while sacking Bradford at least three times.

1. Miles Austin – Austin showed his breakout year wasn’t a fluke vs. the Redskins (9 rec, 116 yards 1TD). The Bears are beatable down the field and Austin will once again be targeted heavily and eclipse 100 yards with a TD. Top fantasy football WR in Week 2.

2. Roddy White - White’s day at Pittsburgh was stellar: 13 catches for 111 yards. The only thing missing was a score. Look for him to get deep against Arizona and top 100 yards with a TD.

3. Greg Jennings - Aaron Rodgers deep threat got behind the Eagles secondary for a TD and this is something we’ll see again vs. the Bills… maybe twice.

4. Reggie Wayne – The Giants run a “bend don’t break” style of pass coverage and this leaves opportunities open on underneath routes. Look for Peyton Manning to target Wayne on a lot of slants before taking his shot deep.

Next In Line

Andre Johnson – No. 80 never had to do much vs. the Colts because the running game was dominant. He’ll find great success against the Redskins and we expect 100 yards with a score.

Hakeem Nicks – The 2nd year rising star caught 3 TDs against a good Panthers secondary and will have another big game against a shaky Colts secondary.

Santana Moss - Donovan McNabb’s ability to throw deep bodes well against a D that gave up over 400 yards and 3 TDs in Week 1. Look for Moss to stretch the secondary and reach the century mark with a TD on Sunday.

Rounding Out the List

Chad Ochocinco – No. 85 had a big Week 1 and will thrive against Baltimore CBs.

Marques Colston – The Niners were horrendous stopping the pass in Week 1. Drew Brees will target Colston for a big game on Monday Night.

Wes Welker – CB Darrelle Revis figures to shadow Randy Moss and this will leave the Jets scrambling to find Welker. Look for Welker to catch 10 passes, mostly on underneath patterns, and score a  TD.

Steve Smith (NYG) – The Giants will pass plenty on Sunday Night and Smith will catch at least 8 passes and a TD.

Dwayne Bowe - The Chiefs will take their shots down the field and against a suspect Browns secondary and Bowe will finish with 80 yards and a score.

DeSean Jackson – Jackson will shake off his poor Week 1 performance and bounce back with a big effort against the Lions. Look for Andy Reid to devise some creative schemes to get him in space.

Hines Ward – Look for QB Dennis Dixon to target Ward for over eight catches and a TD.

Anquan Boldin – The Ravens No. 1 will have a lot of success on short to medium patterns Sunday.

Fantasy Sleeper of the Week

Austin Collie – The Giants 3rd CB (Aaron Ross) is coming off a heel injury and Peyton Manning has shown a willingness to target Collie on underneath patterns. Collie is an excellent fantasy sleeper in the Manning Bowl and will catch 7 balls or more for over 75 yards and a TD.

1. Adrian Peterson – The Vikes will rely more heavily on AD until the passing game comes around and we expect Peterson to respond with a 125 + yard effort against the Dolphins with 2 TDs. He’s the top fantasy football RB in Week 2.

2. Michael Turner – Atlanta will pound the ball against the Cardinals and Turner will eclipse 100 yards with 2 TDs on Sunday.

3. DeAngelo Williams – The Bucs are vulnerable against the run and Williams, who has had some of the biggest games of his career against Tampa Bay, will break loose for over 100 yards and 2 TDs.

4. Ray Rice – Rice performed well against the Bengals a year ago and will find even more running room this year. The presence of Anquan Boldin and TJ Houshmandzadeh will keep Cincy honest and Rice will top 100 yards with a TD.

Next In Line

Ahmad Bradshaw - The Colts were destroyed by RB Arian Foster after S Bob Sanders went out. Bradshaw will top 100 yards on Sunday Night and find the end zone at least once.

LeSean McCoy - The Lions smaller defense will have trouble containing McCoy on Sunday.

Maurice Jones-Drew – The Chargers strength lies in its secondary. Look for MJD to get the ball 25 times and score at least once in San Diego.

Steven Jackson – The Rams lone offensive threat will see the ball between 25-30 times against Oakland and top 100 yards.

Rounding Out The List

Ryan Mathews – The Jags front seven has trouble stopping the run. The speedy Chargers rookie will have a lot of success on the ground this Sunday.

Shonn Greene - The bad news is Greene struggled Monday Night. The good news is the Pats aren’t the Ravens. The Jets will pound away at the Patriots front and Greene’s low style of running will yield strong results.

Rashard Mendenhall - The Steelers will rely on the running game vs. Tennessee and Mendenhall will have another solid game.

Jamaal Charles – The speedy 3rd year back will slice and dice the Browns D and take another long run to the house.

Brandon Jackson - Ryan Grant’s injury makes Jackson the feature back in Green Bay and he’ll have a ton of success against a depleted Bills defense.

Frank Gore - The Niners will place an emphasis on the running game and Gore will bounce back from his poor showing vs. the Seahawks.

Arian Foster - Ride the hot hand? He won’t find running the ball so easy against the Redskins, but he should be good for 75 yards and a TD.

Cedric Benson – Benson did surprisingly well against the Ravens in ’09 as he was the 1st RB in a few years to top 100 yards against that defense. He also found the end zone. Look for more of the same vs. a team he seems to thrive against.

Fantasy Sleeper of the Week

Michael Bush - Bush should be healthy enough to go and the Rams run defense is anything but stout. Look for him to respond with a 100 yards and a score and prove his value as a great fantasy sleeper in Week 2.

QB Joe Flacco -

RB Michael Turner – The return of S Troy Polamalu and DE Aaron Smith will have this defense playing like it’s 2008 again. This is bad news for Michael Turner owners. That Steelers D was the best at stopping the run. Expect Turner Burner to have a very mediocre afternoon and end with around 60 rushing yards with 0 TDs.

WR Anquan Boldin – Along with his teammate at the top, this is a night you want to avoid Baltimore’s top receiving threat. Rust or little rust, CB Darrelle Revis will shut Boldin down and force Flacco to look elsewhere when throwing down the field. Expect 50 receiving yards or fewer on MNF.

TE John Carlson - Two reasons. The Seahawks are thin along the offensive line and will probably need Carlson to stay in and block most of the time. Next, the 49ers possess one of the best LB corps in the league and are tough on opposing TEs.

D/ST Philadelphia Eagles – Ranked No. 2 on some fantasy football pre-draft ranking charts, Week 1 is not the weekend to start this unit. QB Aaron Rodgers and Co. are coming into Philadelphia and will be putting plenty of points on the board.
