WRs who will outperform their mid-tier ESPN fantasy ranking in Week 2:

Donte Moncrief (ranked 32) vs. NYJ – You have to figure Revis will lock down Andre Johnson. Moncrief is a talented 2nd year player and makes a solid flex start this week. Luck trusts him.

Cole Beasley (ranked 44) vs. Phi – The loss of WR Dez Bryant opens up things for everyone else. Beasley becomes a solid #3/flex start in PPR leagues and his sneaky quickness could create issues for the Eagles Sunday.

Sammy Watkins (ranked 25) vs. NE – I don’t like Tyrod Taylor throwing to any of my fantasy receivers but the Patriots pass D is poor. Watkins speed will find him in the end zone in Week 2.

Jordan Matthews (ranked 15) vs. Dal – Matthews could reach top 10 status this week. He’s the only known reliable receiver in this offense and Bradford looks his way almost exclusively on short to intermediate routes.

Steve Smith Sr. (ranked 26) vs. The Raiders lost their starting Safety Allen for the year and DB Charles Woodson’s shoulder is banged up. Even if he plays the Raiders are hurting in the secondary. They also don’t have the upfront rush of Denver to consistently put Flacco on his back. Look for the seasoned vet to bust out Sunday.

WRs who will underperform their top 10 ranking in Week 2:

Julio Jones (ranked 2) vs. NYG – Julio is a beast but the core strength of this Giants team is its CBs. Look for them to keep Julio from busting out Sunday like he did on Monday.

Alshon Jeffery (ranked 8th) vs. Arz – If Patrick Peterson sticks with Jeffery on Sunday it minimizes his chances of a big game.

It’s getting late in the NFL suicide pool and you’re down to few options that are “locks.” Here is our top three NFL suicide pool picks in Week 17 assuming you’ve used all favorites.

Top Pick

1. St. Louis Rams vs. SD – The Chargers are beat up and so is Philip Rivers, regardless of what they’re saying publicly. Look for the Rams D to be all over the Chargers and for their offense to do just enough to pull out the win.

Next

2. Atlanta Falcons vs. Cle – The Falcons were left for dead a few weeks back but have strung a couple of wins together. The Browns flopped after an impressive Thursday night win over Cincy and have lost DT Phil Taylor for the season and a few other defenders. Expect Atlanta to pull out the W at home.

3. Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Chi – The Bears righted the ship for a week with a win over Minnesota. But real problems still exist. Look for the Bucs to come into Chicago and pull out the win. Josh McCown, a Bear a year ago, will come in and put up big numbers.

No real surprises a week ago. All teams that were supposed to win did win. Now we move to Week 4 of the NFL Suicide Pool and here are our top three teams.

Top Pick

1. San Diego Chargers vs. Jax – The sight of QB Blake Broyles starting is a welcome one for the Chargers. They’re a bit banged up coming back from Buffalo but will have little trouble in this game. Look for Rivers and Co. to have their way with the Jacksonville D and for San Diego’s defense to force Broyles into multiple mistakes.

Next

2. Atlanta Falcons vs. Min – Things have really gone awry in Minnesota after their impressive week 1 win against the Rams. Their franchise runner is still out and now QB Matt Cassel is gone for the year. Look for the Falcons, coming off a 10 day rest, to head into Minnesota and roll the Vikings in their home park.

3. San Francisco 49ers vs. Phi – The Eagles are banged up on the OL and that will catch up to them. Playing against the 49ers expect them to pressure Foles heavily. Offensively, look for SF to take the ball out of Colin Kaepernick’s hands and put it into their RBs hands.

1. Green Bay Packers (-3) vs. Chi – Win and in. Aaron Rodgers is back which gives the Packers a decided edge both performance wise and psychologically over the Bears.

Next

2. Atlanta Falcons (+6.5) vs. Car – The Panthers will be without WR Steve Smith which changes the offense completely. Look for Atlanta to try and play the role of spoiler but end up missing out in a close one.

3. Baltimore Ravens (+6.5) vs. Cin – These divisional rivalries are tough, and this game has multiple implications. If the Ravens win, they could very well be back here in the Wild Card round. We like the Bengals to win but not by more than the point spread.

4. San Diego Chargers (-9) vs. KC – The Chiefs will likely rest their starters half way through with the wild card a week away.

Rounding things out

Jacksonville Jaguars (+11) vs. Ind – Don’t let the Colts beat down over the Texans fool you; this is still a flawed team. The Jags, who have been competitive over the past month, will keep this close.

Tennessee Titans (-7) vs. Hou – The Texans mailed it in weeks ago. This team is eagerly looking forward to the top pick and will roll over on Sunday.

Dolphins (-5.5) vs. NYJ – Unfortunately for New York, bad QB Geno Smith will show up this week. Look for the Dolphins to get after Smith and force multiple turnovers.

Top Pick

1. San Francisco 49ers (+3.5) vs. NO – See Money Line Bet.

Next

2. Detroit Lions (-2.5) vs. Pit – These just aren’t the same old Steelers. They can be pushed around on both sides of the ball and the Lions will have too much firepower offensively in this one.

3. Cincinnati Bengals (-6) vs. Cle – The Bengals remember the beating they took in Cleveland earlier in the season. They’ll return the favor here.

4. Seattle Seahawks (-12.5) vs. Min – So long as the Seahawks don’t sleep walk through another easy win, they’ll be fine. They’re potentially getting back 2-3 of their injured OL plus WR Percy Harvin. Expect a blowout prior to their bye.

Rounding things out

Arizona Cardinals (-9) vs. Jax – The Jaguars shook up the world with their HUGE upset vs. the Titans. Unfortunately for them, they’re back at home where they’ve stunk thus far.

Buffalo Bills (EVEN) vs. NYJ – Although they’re coming off their bye week, this is unfortunately the game that the bad Jets show up.

Atlanta Falcons (-2) vs. TB – The Falcons are going nowhere fast, but they’re healthier this week and will beat the Bucs by more than the close point spread.

Money Line Bet

San Francisco 49ers (+160) vs. NO – The 49ers are dealing with some injury issues, with Vernon Davis being the biggest question mark after suffering a concussion a week ago. However, the Saints have not faced a defense this good all year and they’ll find the going not as easy as a week ago. QB Colin Kaepernick is struggling but expect the 49ers to play great defense and smash mouth football and to pull out the close win at the end.

The main upset a week ago was the Houston Texans, who were crushed 38-13 by the St. Louis Rams as 7.5 point favorites. If you’re still alive, these are our top three picks for your NFL Suicide Pool in Week 7.

Top Pick

1. Carolina Panthers vs. Stl. – The Panthers D is a lot better than people realize. The Rams will realize this on Sunday as they will have trouble keeping QB Sam Bradford upright against an attacking defense. Offensively, look for QB Cam Newton to lead his team to the convincing win to move them to 3-3.

Next

2. Atlanta Falcons vs. TB – Winning on the road will be a tall task for rookie QB Mike Glennon. Winning at all has become a tall task for the Buccaneers who may be close to completely tuning out HC Greg Schiano. The Falcons are coming off the bye and a little healthier on the defensive side of the ball, and will beat their rivals pretty handily at home.

3. Miami Dolphins vs. Buf – The Bills are still ailing at QB and will find Miami a tough place to go into and win. The Dolphins are well rested coming off the bye and will force Buffalo into 2+ turnovers on Sunday as they cruise to the win.

Note – beware of teams on the road this week if you still haven’t used them. The Patriots, 49ers, Seahawks and Broncos all face teams that could very easily upset them.

1. Atlanta Falcons (-10) vs. NYJ – The Falcons are banged up defensively and still hurting a bit on offense although RB Steven Jackson might return for this one. However, QB Geno Smith has been horrible on the road and the Jets will be without their top two wideouts in this one. Look for Atlanta to cover the point spread and win 30-13.

Next

2. Carolina Panthers (-2.5) vs. Arz – The Cardinals offensive line will be overwhelmed by the Panthers front 7 on Sunday. Look for Carolina’s attacking D to force QB Carson Palmer into multiple mistakes.

3. Cincinnati Bengals (+1) vs. NE – The Bengals are an enigma this year. Picked by some to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl, they’re off to a 2-2 start and very inconsistent. That being said, the Patriots come in still shorthanded on offense and now missing their most important piece on defense, DT Vince Wilfork.

4. Oakland Raiders (+5) vs. SD – See money line bet.

Rounding Things Out

Houston Texans (+6) vs. SF – The 49ers offense works when it can run the ball. Houston is very stingy vs. the run. The 49ers will win, but expect a close one on Sunday Night.

Seattle Seahawks (-3) vs. Ind – Seattle is banged up offensively but showing grit on the road which they did not possess a year ago. Look for the Seahawks to force Andrew Luck and Co. into mistakes which tips the scales in Seattle’s favor.

Denver Broncos (-9) vs. Dal -Peyton Manning’s torrid start will continue in big D. The Cowboys lack the offensive firepower to keep this game within double digits.

Money Line Bet

Oakland Raiders (+195) vs. SD – The Raiders play a lot better at home and with Terrelle Pryor under center, who will be back after suffering a concussion two weeks ago. Look for the Raiders D to perform well against the Chargers and for Oakland to pull out the close win on Sunday Night. Remember, both head coaches are former coordinators from Denver and familiar with each other’s styles.

1. Atlanta Falcons (-2.5) vs. NE – The Falcons are a different team at home and catch the Patriots at a good time. TE Rob Gronkowski is unlikely to play as is WR Danny Amendola, limiting Brady’s weapons in what could be a game where they need the offense.

Atlanta will cover the point spread and knock off the Pats at home.

Next

2. Cincinnati Bengals (-4.5) vs. Cle – The Bengals are still coming together as a team, but their talent will win out on Sunday. Divisional games are typically close but look for QB Andy Dalton and Co. to win by a TD on the road.

3. Arizona Cardinals (+2.5) vs. TB – The Bucs are going with rookie QB Mike Glennon, which limits what they can do offensively. Arizona’s 1-2 and reeling after suffering through a string of injuries last week, but will upset the 0-3 Bucs this week.

4. San Diego Chargers (+2.5) vs. Dal – See money line bet.

Rounding things out

Baltimore Ravens (-3) vs. Buf – The Ravens are still struggling offensively, but its defense has come together.

Detroit Lions (-2.5) vs. Chi – The Lions are a better team offensively and defensively this year. They have more play makers. This game will be tight, but look for Detroit to knock off the Bears and tie them atop the NFC North.

New York Jets (+4) vs. Ten – The Jets D is better than more realize and Geno Smith isn’t as much of a liability as many thought he would be at this point.

Money Line Bet

San Diego Chargers (+110) vs. Dal – The Cowboys are an enigma; aside from whoopin’ the lowly Rams, they’ve been largely inconsistent. The Chargers are 1-2, but very likely could be 3-0 if not for two last minute losses. Neither team is particularly good but look for the Bolts to pull out the slight upset at home.

Must Start

1. Houston Texans vs. Jax – This could be a trap game, but the Texans D/ST is the top rated fantasy football unit facing an anemic Jags offense.

2. San Francisco 49ers vs. Chi – It looks like Jason Campbell will be asked to go in this one. Look for the 49ers to be ALL over him on MNF.

3. Dallas Cowboys vs. Cle – The Cowboys D is coming on strong – especially the front four. Expect a 15-20 fantasy point afternoon.

4. Chicago Bears vs. SF – If Alex Smith is forced to sit, Colin Kaepernick will be in for a long night vs. the Bears.

Next

Denver Broncos vs. SD – The Broncos have found their stride and will continue to force Philip Rivers into turnovers.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Pit – With Leftwich likely starting, the Ravens instantly become a top 10 fantasy football D/ST this week.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Arz – The Falcons will get back on track this week. The Cards still can’t protect the QB or run the ball.

The Rest

Cincinnati Bengals vs. KC – The Bengals become an excellent fantasy sleeper unit especially if Brady Quinn re-enters the starting lineup.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Bal – We have a feeling that the Chiefs game was a trap. They’ll be raring to go in this one.

New Orleans Saints vs. Oak – Yes, the Saints make the list. The Raiders are a turnover prone offense and will likely be playing catch-up in this one.

St. Louis Rams vs. NYJ – Any D facing Mark Sanchez and Co. has some promise.

Washington Redskins vs. Phi – It’s at home and vs. a rookie QB who is playing behind an offensive line in shambles. Fantasy sleeper play here.

Cleveland Browns vs. Dal – This is only because the Cowboys have been turnover prone this year and the Browns have been solid of late.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Car – Greg Schiano’s D figured out Cam Newton in Week 1.

Miami Dolphins vs. Buf – If the Dolphins offense can hold onto the ball, the D will do its job this week.
