1. Seattle Seahawks - The Seahawks enter 2013 as the No. 1 fantasy football D/ST. They’re talented at every level of the defense – especially the secondary, and will force turnovers and pick up sacks.
2. Houston Texans - The Texans feature a talented defense led by the great J.J. Watt and play in a weak division.
3. San Francisco 49ers - Their success is dependent on the front 7 which makes them a boom or bust pick. They might not end up a top 5 fantasy D / ST at year’s end due to their division, schedule and some key losses on D.
4. Denver Broncos – This D is poised to take a step back, but they should be able to force turnovers and get after the QB.
5. Chicago Bears - New head coach, new philosophy, similar results? We’ll see, but the defense still has a lot of talent and should force plenty of turnovers once again.
6. Cincinnati Bengals - Marvin Lewis’s D played very well and has a lot of young talent. They could end up a top 3 fantasy defense in 2013.
7. Arizona Cardinals – Their biggest problem a year ago was the offense and its inability to score points and sustain drives. That side of the ball is improved which should help this unit a great deal.
8. New England Patriots - Playing against a weak AFC East helps a lot, and they did fill some holes in the offseason.
9. St. Louis Rams - They have the ability to make a huge jump into the top 5 this year. There’s a lot of talent and play-makers on this side of the ball.
10. Pittsburgh Steelers - LeBeau‘s scheme always creates turnovers with its unique blitzes, and keeps Pittsburgh a No. 1 fantasy defense.
