Smith is definitely worth starting, but let's not get too ahead of ourselves and assume Cam Newton is going to put up top numbers week in and week out. He is still a rookie and there will be growing pains, and that will affect Smith's numbers. The Bears are pretty good defensively at home and we think they'll roll extra Safety help towards Smith's side... thus keeping him contained.

Steve Smith was playing through a monsoon in week 3. Cam Newton couldn't get the passing game going with the rain pouring and Steve Smith had to run through puddles all day. You failed to mention that when you looked at his week 3 stats and automatically wrote him off with no regard to game conditions. With good conditions, Steve Smith is going to show us some of his vintage game. I'm starting him before Desean, Vick won't last through the half to throw DJaxx the rock.
