Must Starts
1. Antonio Gates - Teams at some point will learn to double or triple Gates and force the Chargers elsewhere. But it won’t happen this week. Gates will torch the Seahawks for over 80 yards and a TD. He’s the top ranked fantasy football TE in Week 3.
2. Dallas Clark – Expect Peyton Manning to catch Clark in a few one -on-one situations and exploit it for a TD on Sunday. He’ll also catch 7 passes for over 80 yards.
3. Vernon Davis - The Niners top receiving threat will have his way with rookie S Eric Berry. Expect big game and a TD.
4. Jermichael Finley – Aaron Rodgers favorite target over the middle will have a huge receiving game and find the end zone on Monday Night.
Next In Line
Tony Gonzalez – Expect the Falcons to be throwing on Sunday and Gonzalez to give the Saints Safeties and LBers fits. He’ll also score.
Chris Cooley – Cooley found the end zone last week and will do so again against St. Louis.
Visanthe Shiancoe - Brett Favre’s top receiving target will see his role expand further vs. the Lions.
Rounding Out the List
Brent Celek – The move by the Eagles to start Michael Vick bodes well for Celek against Jacksonville. Expect a lot of 10-15 yard passes in Celek’s direction and a solid game with 60 yards.
Todd Heap – Look for Baltimore to simplify its passing attack and re-focus on Heap over the middle. He’ll thrive against a weak Browns Secondary.
Brandon Pettigrew - If the Vikings D gets after the Lions as we think they will, QB Shaun Hill will have to get the ball out quickly. And expect Pettigrew to be on the receiving end of a lot of those passes.
Dustin Keller - The Jets finally became wise and made Keller an integral part of the passing game. He used his speed and provided soft spots for Sanchez to throw to. He’ll be a big part of the passing game again vs. Miami.
Jason Witten - The Cowboys desperately need a win on Sunday and Witten will once again become a focal point of the offense. Look for Tony Romo to target him 8-10 times and for Witten to top 70 yards and a TD.
Zach Miller - The Raiders offense has been inept over the 1st two weeks of the season but the Cards are a team in disarray. Look for Miller to top 50 yards and reach the end zone on Sunday.
Fantasy Sleeper of the Week
Aaron Hernandez - The Patriots rookie TE was a weapon vs. the Jets and topped 100 yards while showing extremely soft hands. He’s slowly moving his way in as Brady’s 3rd target and we think he’ll top 60 yards with a score against the Bills. He’s a strong fantasy sleeper at home in Week 3.
