Manning just torched the Cardinals on Sunday Night for 379 yards and four TDs and the Seahawks don’t possess the talent on defense to keep up with the Colts offense. Stick with the hot hand and look for Peyton to drop another 300-yard game with at least three TDs on Sunday. He’s our top fantasy football QB in Week Four.
2. Tom Brady vs. Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens are exceptionally strong against the run and the Pats prefer to pass. But New England’s decision to run the ball last Sunday helped open up its passing game and keep them from becoming one dimensional. They should have Welker back this week and this will open up the underneath passing game before Brady looks down field to Moss and Co.
3. Phillip Rivers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
Heading into this game, with or without LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego realizes it will not be able to do much on the ground. So look for Rivers to follow the blueprint which has worked thus far and use the dump offs/screens as a substitute for their running game and then go down field to Gates and Jackson for big chunks of yardage. Expect at least 250 yards and two to three TDs.
4. Aaron Rodgers vs. Minnesota Vikings
Rodgers struggled vs. the Vikings in Minnesota last year and now comes in playing behind an offensive line with plenty of question marks. The running game will prove ineffective vs. the Vikings so look for Green Bay to move Rodgers around and utilize roll outs and play action passes to target Jennings, Driver and the other skill players. 250 yards and at least two TDs.
Sleepers
1. David Garrard vs. Tennessee Titans
Garrard, who’s off to a slow start to the 2009 season, will be happy to see the Titans pass defense on Sunday; they’ve been one of the worst units in the NFL thus far. He should eclipse the 250-yard mark with a few scores and is a solid fantasy sleeper play if your starter has a bye.
2. Kyle Orton vs. Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys have been unable to overcome some key losses to their defensive line in 2009 and the result has been less of a pass rush and more time for opposing QBs to throw on their secondary. Expect Orton to have a nice day yardage wise locating Marshall, Royal, Stokley and Scheffler. He could throw for a TD or two as well.
Others We Like
Eli Manning vs. Kansas City Chiefs
While the Giants will probably run the ball for a majority of the afternoon, Eli will have opportunities to locate his outside play makers (Smith, Manningham) down the field against the over matched Chiefs DBs. We like a multi-TD effort on Sunday.
Drew Brees vs. New York Jets
This is one of the few defensive match-ups which could slow down Drew Brees. The Jets are incredibly deceptive with their schemes and have the talent – and speed – to execute plays to a T. Look for the Saints to have to throw in order to win and for Brees to toss at least two TDs.
Carson Palmer vs. Cleveland Browns
The Browns are horrible on defense and Palmer and Co. are finally playing like it’s 2005 once again. Expect another solid fantasy effort and for Palmer to locate Ochocinco, Coles and Henry throughout the afternoon and for two of those balls to end up in the end zone.
