1. Tony Gonzalez vs. Denver Broncos. Has any TE been on more of a tear in the NFL of late than Tony G? This guy is playing like it’s 1998 all over again. Look for his string of 100-yard games to continue this week as the Chiefs head into Denver as there are numerous holes in the interior of Denver’s defense.
2. Dallas Clark vs. Cincinnati Bengals. The Colts are coming off a poor (offensive) performance this past Sunday but now comes an opponent to get the team’s fortunes back on track. The Bengals can’t stop anyone on the defensive side of the ball so look for Peyton to exploit their weakness in the secondary and target Clark throughout the afternoon.
3. Tony Scheffler vs. Kansas City Chiefs. The other TE in the game, Tony Scheffler, isn’t too shabby himself. Cutler’s really elevated his play with the return of his TE and we see the QB targeting Scheffler early and often this Sunday.
And with the Chiefs inability to pressure the QB (under 10 sacks all season), Cutler should have ample time to locate his TE for at least one score.
4. Kevin Boss vs. Philadelphia Eagles. With the void left by WR Plaxico Burress, Boss has become much more involved in the Giants‘ passing game and it proving to be quite a weapon. The last time these teams played the second-year TE caught a TD and we see him doing the same once again in this one.
Sleepers
1. Vernon Davis vs. New York Jets. Davis has quietly been putting up numbers the past few weeks and is developing a solid rapport with new QB Shaun Hill. And by quietly, I mean in the neighborhood of one or two catches and a score.
The reason for his lack of catches is OC Mike Martz doesn’t utilize the TE position in his game plan, but against the Jets this week, we see Davis once again finding the end zone on one of the few times his number is called.
Good fantasy sleeper in Week 14.
2. John Carlson vs. New England Patriots. Carlson is having a very nice rookie season for the Seahawks and his numbers have improved steadily with the return of QB Matt Hasselbeck to the lineup. In last Thursday’s game, he reeled in over 100 yards receiving and we like to him to post big fantasy numbers again in this one.
Others with favorable matchups:
1. Owen Daniels vs. Green Bay Packers. Daniels has become one of the top options regardless of whether Schaub or Rosenfels line up behind center. And the Packers have had trouble stopping anyone through the air.
Look for Daniels to once again have much success down the seam and haul in a score in what should be a high scoring affair.
2. Dustin Keller vs. San Francisco 49ers. Keller’s emergence has ignited the entire Jets’ offense and the young TE has become one of the leading targets for Favre. Look for Keller to have a lot of success down the middle of the field and when the Niners match a LB against him.
3. Jeremy Shockey vs. Atlanta Falcons. After battling through both injuries and inconsistent play on his part, Shockey has begun to resemble a solid NFL TE once again in recent weeks. He had a strong game vs. GB two weeks ago and followed it up with some nice plays in Tampa.
Look for Shockey to be an integral part of the short passing game this week and for the TE to potentially reel in his first TD on the season.

Love the Vernon Davis call. He is finally starting to realize his potential, and is finding the end zone even though his number is called only once or twice a game. This guy can be a game breaker, and we are just waiting here in 49erland for Martz to realize that.
