1. Antonio Gates vs. Kansas City. Up until this point, Gates hasn’t had the impact that most fantasy owners thought he would because of a lingering toe injury dating back to last season. He’s been mid-pack at best. However, he began to resemble his old self two-weeks ago with 96-receiving yards and a TD vs. New Orleans and we like for that trend to continue this week over the lowly Chiefs. Top fantasy TE of the week: 80+ yards and a TD.
2. Kellen Winslow vs. Denver. #80 had a pretty solid day last week ending it off with five catches for 64 yards. That was against Baltimore; this week he gets Denver and he must be licking his chops. The Broncos haven’t been able to stop anyone of late so look for QB Quinn, starting his 1st professional game, to locate his TE a lot and for Winslow to be a focal point of the game plan. 70+ yards and 1TD.
3. Owen Daniels vs. Baltimore. Daniels had a monster game last week (in Minnesota) and compiled 133 receiving yards on the day. In this game, against a stingy Ravens’ D, look for more of the same from the TE. Houston will be forced to pass this Sunday if they want to have success offensively, and once QB Rosenfels came into the game last week, Daniels became his favorite target. Look for that chemistry to continue. 70+ yards and 1 TD.
4. Dallas Clark vs. Indianapolis. Pittsburgh has a very tough defense and doesn’t give up a lot of yards or points. That being said, in its last two games – against the Giants and Redskins, the TE’s (Boss, Cooley) have performed very well and we like Clark to find openings in the middle of the field once again. Usually Peyton Manning’s safety valve, look for #44 to reach the 70-yard plateau and get into the end zone.
Sleepers:
1. Kevin Boss vs. Philadelphia. Boss has really stepped up of late scoring TDs against the Steelers two weeks ago and the Cowboys on Sunday. Eli and the coaching staff are beginning to incorporate him more into the game plan and Boss is using his skills/size to create mismatches against the LB’s assigned to cover him. In what should be a close football game in Philly this Sunday Night, look for Boss to hit the 50-yard receiving mark and deposit another ball into the end zone when New York is in the red zone.
2. Anthony Fasano vs. Seattle. This is a dreadful cross country trip for the battered Seahawks. Coming off their 23-7 licking at the hands of Philly, it’s not easy to head east for the early morning game. In Miami, Pennington appears to have found a real comfort zone when throwing to Fasano and look for that to continue once again this week as Seattle has trouble covering the middle of the field. 50-yards and a score.
